R. H.Gurr worked for both Ford and Lincoln in Detroit during the early 1950's. He was the author of several books on the subject of auto design: "How to Draw the Car of Tomorrow" - 1952, and "Automobile Design: The Complete Styling Book" - 1955. At about that time he moved to California and got a job as a designer for Disney Land. This handsome back view of an Oldsmobile 88 demonstrates many stylistic features of the period. in fact, it is a quintessential 1950's American car.
